In the 20th century there is a lot more you need to worry about when raising your child. Everyday there are circumstances that will corrupt your kids morals or put them in harms way. Atticus is a great parent for his time period and it would carry over well into ours. He teaches his kids the right thing to do and stay out of trouble.Atticus would not tolerate foolishness and always helped his kids do what he told them to do. My parents used religion as a big factor in how me and my two sisters were raised. As a kid learning right and wrong was solely based off “what would jesus do” and the ten commandments. My parents kept me in private school until late middle school and i was not really exposed to how bad the world could be. When i become a parent i am going to be very friendly and understanding but im still going to be strict. Im not going to tolerate my children doing the wrong thing and thinking its ok. The better my kids are the more descions they are going to make on there own but if i see they are making bad descions its my job as a parent to make those descions for them. The way i see things this way is because this is how my parents raised me and as many times as i wanted to say it was unfair it was perfectly fair if it was not for them i would not be here and i would not have food in my stomache or even a roof over my head. As long as they are providing for me its my job to do what they say especialy because they do not ask for that much. Kids i see not striving to be succesfull have a direct correlation to there parents and how they were raised. They more laid back a parent is the more the kids is going to slack off in school and in life overall. Its every kids dream to have a parent that would let them do whatever they want but if they had that they would not be doing anything good for themselves at all and be going no where in life.
